How to get Moneytaw Premium without paying for it

Moneytaw Premium is ₦2,500 a month. It's also entirely possible to never pay that in cash.

Kudi Points are referral credit, and 1 point = ₦1 off your subscription. Enough of them and the card step disappears completely. This is how the whole thing works, with real numbers.

Where your code lives

Settings → My Referrals.

Your referral code is generated the first time you open that screen — and it's a real word, not a string of characters. Something like AURORA or BEACON, drawn from a curated list chosen so it can't be misheard or misspelt.

That matters more than it sounds. You're going to say this out loud, put it on a story, or spell it down a phone line. MTW-8X3K9Q was never going to survive that.

The screen gives you both a referral code and a referral link — copy or share either.

What each milestone pays

You don't get paid once for a signup. You get paid as your friend actually sets up, which is the part that decides whether they stick around.

Up to 330 points per friend. Points never expire, and there's no cap on how many people you can invite.

And they get something too

This is new, and it's the part most people don't know: anyone who signs up using a valid referral code starts with 500 Kudi Points of their own.

Not a discount code with conditions. Points in their balance, credited the moment they join, before they've done anything at all.

So the honest pitch to a friend isn't "do me a favour." It's that you both come out ahead — which is a much easier message to send.

The maths on what it actually takes

A month of Premium is 2,500 points. So:

• One friend who does everything — 330 points. About 13% of a month.
• Eight friends who go all the way — 2,640 points. A full month, covered, with change.
• Any number in between — points apply partially. You are never waiting for a threshold.

That last point is the one people miss. You don't have to reach 2,500 before your points are worth anything.

How to spend them

Go to Settings → Manage Subscription and choose a plan.

There's a slider — Drag to choose how many points to apply toward this payment. Move it, and the payment summary updates live. Apply 500 points to a ₦2,500 month and you pay ₦2,000 by card.

If your points cover the full price, the screen tells you plainly:

Fully covered by Kudi Points! No card payment needed.

At that point Premium activates immediately. No card, no checkout at all.

Getting the invite right

Three things that measurably change whether an invite converts:

Lead with their 500 points, not your 330. Nobody signs up to help you earn credit. They will sign up for something in their own balance on day one.

Send it to people with more than one bank account. That's who Moneytaw is actually for. There are 4.8 active bank accounts for every BVN holder in Nigeria (NIBSS, 2025) — so most people qualify, but the ones who feel the problem hardest are those juggling salary in one bank and business in another.

Help them past the first statement. Signup earns you 10. First account and first statement earn 70 between them — and more importantly, that's the point where the app becomes genuinely useful and they stop bouncing. A friend who uploads one statement is a friend who stays.

Worth saying plainly
